11/21/2023 0 Comments Shortcut for volume control macIf you have Trackpad, I think BBT is an essential addition. But I also like its window snap features for full screen, half screen and quarter screen. I currently use Cmd + Alt + Q/W/E to control Down/Up/Mute on my keyboard. This is a Shortcuts bug in iOS 13. To navigate to the keyboard shortcuts with a screen reader, press the Tab key. Set volume to any negative value e.g -2 or -1 or -0,01 (long press the percent value to change to a variable): Set Volume to -1. Does your keyboard have volume up/down on the keyboard If so, is System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard tab -> Use all F1, F2, etc. Select the (Settings and more) button in the upper-right corner of Microsoft Teams, and then select Keyboard shortcuts. Generally, the Mac recognizes the keyboard and knows what graphics are printed on the functions keys and maps things accordingly. Locate the Show volume in menu bar option and tick the checkbox. For the Mac Googlers out there with PC keyboards, I highly recommend the free app Spark for controlling volume via shortcuts. Press Ctrl+E in the desktop app, or Ctrl+Alt+E in the web app, to go to the Search field, type /keys, and then press Enter. Click on the Apple menu, and go to System Preferences. Partially because of its hotkey support, but mostly because of its Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse enhanced gesture support. Check your system settings, and make sure the volume icon is set to show in the menu bar. If you are willing to install a hotkey utility, many of them have built-in functions for things like volume, brightness, start/stop, fast forward/back, etc. Desktop keyboards may use a similar combination of keys or have. NOTE: The keys you have to press to control the volume are different for every laptop, so study your keyboard carefully or read the user manual for your Windows laptop. So you can press the F10 button to mute the volume, the F11 button to decrease the volume, and the F12 button increases the volume. The mute volume keyboard shortcut is Fn + F6. If that doesn't work, you may be able to write an Automator service, and then use System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts to bind the service to a function key. To turn down the volume, press the Fn + F7 keys at the same time. keys as standard function keys, check or unchecked? What happens if you toggle it to the opposite state? Does your keyboard have volume up/down on the keyboard? If so, is System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard tab -> Use all F1, F2, etc. You can press the F10 button to mute the volume, the F11 button to decrease the volume, and the F12 button to increase the volume. 11/21/2023 0 Comments Subsume definicionAll too often, app-based platforms just make it easier for companies to skirt regulations and realize profits. In the US, where social welfare and public goods are, at best, neglected, there’s little reason to think the launch of super apps would go any differently. The sleek integration of various apps into a larger ecosystem may provide convenience, but these are still apps concerned with extracting as much as they can out of each one of us either by labor exploitation or endless commodification. This has led to the explosive growth of digital infrastructure focused largely on government and corporate surveillance, social control, and the creation of new markets. In China, Tencent’s WeChat started as an instant messaging chat but eventually grew to include food delivery, utility payments, social media, banking, urban transit, health care appointments, air travel, biometrics, news, and more. Looking overseas, it’s easy to see how super apps could give tech companies further grounds to take advantage of existing structural holes. And for consumers, one application with a core function brings together a diverse array of services such as calling a cab, investing money, or even making a quick buck. For some tech firms like Microsoft, super apps may provide an opportunity to break the hold of more established monopolies like Apple or Google. Still, if you ignore this reality, you can understand some of the super app hype. These processes and rationalizations often result in American technologies that can be deployed to augment racial discrimination, corporate and government surveillance, social control, worker immiseration, and above all else, profit maximization-an inconvenient fact that doesn’t matter until it does. And yet, each sermon by a patriotic tech executive preaching the gospel of techno-nationalism (we can’t trust anyone but ourselves to build X or Y tech), each blog post by a doe-eyed venture capitalist about the threats of “Chinese AI”, makes it that much easier to secure contracts with police departments and militaries and government agencies, to rationalize self-regulation here or abroad in the name of outpacing China, and to reframe the ongoing privatization of state infrastructure and public life with sleek, dynamic digitization. But the realities of our tech ecosystem-in which the largest players seem committed to surveillance, labor exploitation, weaponizing tech, algorithmic discrimination, and privatizing every part of the public sphere in the name of profit-indicate that a new super app might not be such a great idea.Īt the moment, the US tech sector is all too eager to play up fears about an impending Cold War 2.0 with China, and snuffing out the competition has long been one of Silicon Valley’s favorite plays. Recently, Elon Musk told X employees that he wants the platform to become a WeChat-style super app, a one-stop shop for social media, communication, travel, on-demand labor, payments, and more. 11/21/2023 0 Comments Xcom ew long war meld per canisterIt's there for people to share another experience. Vanilla I/I is much harder in the beginning, and even mid to late game can be a pain sometimes. While I must admit that the late game in LW can be a grind in some ways (having to wait for those psi soldiers to upgrade.), I can name a few "best" XCOM players that got involved in LW (ChristopherOdd is currently running his beta 14 LP, and names like Beaglerush appear in the release notes, etc.).Īnd sure, while I'll not argue on what decides between a "good" and a "one of the best" player, some guys out there here on Stream continue to play with it (xBr0wnbear's one of them), and, if I can mention it, my LP runs for 114 episodes and it's still going. I do recommend that those that have played vanilla to death and may not pick it up again give it a go,maybe it will appeal, maybe not, nothing to lose. There was a reason the top Xcom streamers nick named it Long Bore. I have played it (EU only) and I have *seen* that sometimes. Lastly,no,Long War is NOT for me (not currently anyway) for every change that I like about the mod they've added two changes that make the first change almost moot. The *best* Xcom players out there stopped Streaming shortly after the release of EW and have zero relation to Long War and its development. If you feel differently about this you may want to start providing names of these *best* Xcom players that are currently helping with development of the mod. mine differs from the OPs.įunny how a large portion of players that incessantly insist that LW offers a much higher difficulty are yet to show stats relating to victory in the vanilla campaign on its' highest setting. Xenonauts and 1994 XCOM, in due time, will just pale in comparison, even if LW has to work with a consticted system. Thing is LW is being driven by the best players out there. It is such a great overhaul, it goes miles beyond EW. You say you can win every time? LW is for you. More classes, randomised pods, both you and the aliens improve as you progress what more do you want? This will be a game nowhere near what you have expected. Just click here, download, let XCOM EW/EU crash once and got for it Once you get used to all the counters, you win. Once you get used to the games, they turn easy. Originally posted by DG Dobrev:Face it guys. Many turns instead of thinking how I'm going to wipe out the aliens, I have to think how many I can disable so my soldiers don't get shredded in the next turn. I use some Second Wave options but I don't know if I could do this mod without Red Mist. I feel the power creep for my soldiers, but I also feel it balanced by the Aliens growing as well. Entering the third month with Exalt really pressing me, and the Alien's really rolling out new ships and soldiers the deaths are more commonplace, and I'm having to start to pick the winnable fights from the unwinnable while balancing my roster and research together. Starting off, I had some wounded soldiers, but I only had two or three deaths in the first two months of my current campaign. I really enjoy how the difficulty of the mod is reversed from the base game. I understand some people do not like to use heavy mods in their games, but after installing LW I just can't go back - it's really brings back the feel of the old Microprose XCom. 11/21/2023 0 Comments Best pdf scanner app for iphone 2020I do not write reviews, but when I found the TurboFax app today, I felt I had to rate and review the company that makes these two app. The thing is, I’ve now had to take the time to drive somewhere, go inside a business, and pay someone more money to fax something I could have done from home, for less time and less money. I’ve always had to leave home, either drive to bank (free faxing), or to a postal annex type place and pay per sheet (usually costing $1.00 per page). I have just installed the TurboFax Pro, as I am occasionally needing to fax an item as opposed to emailing it, as some businesses do not allow access to their computers via outside emails. With TurboScan, it’s there when I need it. I have owned scanners/printers that take up room, need ink replacement, and must be replaced frequently, and I must have access to it at the time I need it. Best of all, it’s with you all of the time. It’s a one-time charge and you have the highest quality scanner you could own. Wrong, you will use this app more often than you can imagine. Greatest app you thought you’d hardly use Please email us at with any questions or suggestions. We're constantly improving TurboScan, and we value our customers' opinions and feedback.

Times’ Games app, which costs $4.99 per month, has been downloaded 11 million times globally since January 2019, according to Sensor Tower data, with the number of downloads soaring by 76% year over year. “Games have proven a powerful way to acquire new customers that might be open to a bundle with news but who otherwise wouldn’t subscribe to just news.” Games helps the Times grow because news is a “crowded category and the market for subscriptions is limited, largely by ideology, and advertising against news is a declining market,” Brian Morrissey, author of the media newsletter the Rebooting told CNN.Īlthough the Times is “already capturing a large part of the US news subscription market, it can grow more internationally,” Morrissey said. “The giant audience we now have for Games continues to power starts for both our Games subscription and the bundle.” Players playing other games other than Wordle “experienced record growth over the last year,” Times CEO Meredith Kopit Levien said in a recent earnings call. Wordle continues to be the biggest game, with its popularity having a halo effect on launching new games and adding subscribers. The Times currently has 9.1 million digital-only subscribers. Subscription revenue from digital products increased nearly 7% percent to $409.6 million in the second quarter of this year, while advertising revenue was flat. Games and Times ’ other apps like Cooking have been an essential part of the Times’ strategy to boost revenue beyond advertising. The only tweak the Times made to the game was clarifying the instructions during the two-month beta period. Players won’t see any changes to Connections once it leaves beta on Monday, a sign that it “resonated with people right away,” Knight said. “It’s that human-made component with the puzzle-constructor going up against them everyday and trying to outwit them as they try to outwit you,” Knight said. Connections is “very approachable, and it’s very easy to understand.” The puzzle is also one of the Times’ “most editorially driven games” with the Connections’ editor purposely thinking of clever words that might appear to be grouped together but actually aren’t related. It was an instant hit, with millions of people playing it weekly, Knight said. After some fine tuning of the idea, Connections launched in beta in June with the puzzle only being findable via search or in the menu of other games Jonathan Knight, head of Games at the Times, told CNN that Connections has been in development for a year, with the games team concocting the idea at a “Game Jam” (think: a hackathon, but for games). Connections is the newest hit for the New York Times. 11/21/2023 0 Comments Printable tooth fairy certificateYounger children don’t always understand the value of money, but all children love to receive certificates. Some children can get anxious when they lose a tooth, but the excitement of the tooth fairy bringing a certificate and perhaps a small gift can help children overcome their fear.Printing a free tooth fairy certificate is quick to do, but creates a long-lasting memory.
