But I also like its window snap features for full screen, half screen and quarter screen. I currently use Cmd + Alt + Q/W/E to control Down/Up/Mute on my keyboard. This is a Shortcuts bug in iOS 13. To navigate to the keyboard shortcuts with a screen reader, press the Tab key. Set volume to any negative value e.g -2 or -1 or -0,01 (long press the percent value to change to a variable): Set Volume to -1. Does your keyboard have volume up/down on the keyboard If so, is System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard tab -> Use all F1, F2, etc. Select the (Settings and more) button in the upper-right corner of Microsoft Teams, and then select Keyboard shortcuts. Generally, the Mac recognizes the keyboard and knows what graphics are printed on the functions keys and maps things accordingly. Locate the Show volume in menu bar option and tick the checkbox. For the Mac Googlers out there with PC keyboards, I highly recommend the free app Spark for controlling volume via shortcuts. Press Ctrl+E in the desktop app, or Ctrl+Alt+E in the web app, to go to the Search field, type /keys, and then press Enter. Click on the Apple menu, and go to System Preferences. Partially because of its hotkey support, but mostly because of its Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse enhanced gesture support. Check your system settings, and make sure the volume icon is set to show in the menu bar. If you are willing to install a hotkey utility, many of them have built-in functions for things like volume, brightness, start/stop, fast forward/back, etc. Desktop keyboards may use a similar combination of keys or have. NOTE: The keys you have to press to control the volume are different for every laptop, so study your keyboard carefully or read the user manual for your Windows laptop. So you can press the F10 button to mute the volume, the F11 button to decrease the volume, and the F12 button increases the volume. The mute volume keyboard shortcut is Fn + F6. ![]() If that doesn't work, you may be able to write an Automator service, and then use System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts to bind the service to a function key.
